    Telecommunication is the transmission of signals over a distance for the purpose of communication.

    TELEPHONE
    - a device that convert sound energy to electrical energy and electric back to sound .

    PARTS:

    transmitter capsule
    -converts sound to electricity .

    receiving capsule
    -converts electricity to sound .

    dial/touch pad
    -send signal/code to the network .

    ringer
    -announce incoming call .

    hook switch
    -control the flow of electron/control incoming call .

    if it is:
    *close- it could receive call .
    *open- it couldn't receive call .

    transmission network
    -connect the phone to the network/control side tones .
